You can import your bookmarks and browser settings from a supported browser anytime in Shift! Supported browsers include Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi. If you're using a different browser, importing browser bookmarks and settings is not possible at this time. How to import bookmarks from a supported browser
- Fully close down the default browser that you want to import from (i.e. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, or Vivaldi)
- Go to Quick Settings (top-right corner) > scroll down to Advanced Settings > You and Shift
- Next to "Import bookmarks and settings", click "Import"
How to import bookmarks from a file
You can also import bookmarks directly from an HTML file. Here's how:
- Type chrome://bookmarks in the top search bar in Shift
- Click the 3 vertical dots on the right-hand side of the page
- Click Import Bookmarks from the drop-down menu
- Select your HTML file
How to rearrange imported bookmarks
After importing bookmarks in Shift, you can rearrange those directly from the bookmark bar. Please note that you won't be able to manage it from the "Bookmark Manager" (chrome://bookmarks). Here's how to rearrange imported bookmarks in Shift:
- Go to the bookmarks bar in Shift
- Select the bookmark you want to relocate and drag it to the location
If you want to move any bookmark between two folders, it'll lag for a few seconds. Then a blue line will appear and you'll be able to place the bookmark between two folders
How to export bookmarks
You can export bookmarks from Shift through the "Bookmark Manager". Here's how to access it:
- Go to the search bar at the top type "chrome://bookmarks" and press enter
- Click on the three dots on the right-hand side to add a new bookmark and select "Export Bookmarks"
- Your bookmark data will be exported to an HTML file that you can then import on another computer you're using Shift on or into another browser
