Did you know Shift has an API integration with supported emails that automatically grabs your email's avatar and displays it in your sidebar? You can also upload a custom image for each of your emails. Easily differentiate between your work emails accounts, personal email accounts, and anything in-between! 🤩
Default email image
By default, the image that displays for an email account in your sidebar will align with whatever is set within that email account as a profile picture (a direct API lets Shift pull this image). If you change your photo within your email settings, your email account image in your Shift sidebar will change also.
Note: If you don't have a photo set in your email settings, your email will appear with a letter (the first letter of your email address) in a colored circle.
How to upload a custom image for your email
If you'd like a different image in your sidebar for your emails aside from the one that's been set in your email's settings, you can also upload a custom image. Here's how:
- Head to Options (lower left) > Settings > Accounts
- Click the to expand your email account settings
- Click the Change Photo icon on the right-hand side to upload a custom photo for your account
Note: You custom email image does not sync with Shift's server, so your uploaded images won't sync on other laptops/PCs if you use Shift across multiple devices. If you perform an app data reset or ever get signed out of your Primary Shift Account, your uploaded images will reset to the default.
