Issue Summary 📄
When using the Freshsales app or any website that uses the Freshchat tool, a new, blank Freshchat window opens automatically and keeps opening even after closing it:
The reason this happens is due to the way Shift handles some links and the interaction between the Freshchat function and Electron, the framework Shift is built on.
Status: Fix available on Alpha Channel (7.0.19) ⏳
This issue is not impacting the latest release on the Alpha Channel (version 7.0.19). However, our development team is currently working on fixing other issues on this channel, so subscribe to Alpha at your own discretion! If you prefer not to subscribe to Alpha, this fix will be available on Beta in approximately 3-4 weeks, and then Stable in another 3-4 weeks after that.
Temporary Workaround 💡
Subscribe to the Alpha Channel. Here's how:
Go to Options (lower left) > Settings > General > Support and Updates
- Click Alpha on the right-hand side and accept any notices
- A prompt will appear after a minute or two to let you know a new version is available. Accept the upgrade prompt
- Allow Shift to reload and you will be on the Alpha channel interacting with new features and updates
