What to do if you encounter display issues

If you encounter any display issues in Shift, particularly if you use customized visual settings on your computer, you can try the below suggestions to resolve the issue.

 

Hard Refresh

Sometimes a display or visual error will occur because of an issue with old data. When this is the case, a hard reload of Shift will usually resolve it. To do so, press Cmd Shift R or Ctrl Shift R on your keyboard.

 

Disable Hardware Acceleration 

This setting will help reduce Shift's impact on your CPU, particularly if you're using an older computer or have RAM lower than the recommended 8Gb. To turn this on, go to Options (lower left corner) > Settings > General > Functionality > scroll down to find Disable Hardware Acceleration towards the bottom of the list and toggle it ON on the right-hand side.

 

Disable Smooth Scrolling

Smooth scrolling in Shift enhances the visual quality of scrolling. Disabling this feature can also help reduce Shift's impact on your computer's resources. To turn this on, go to Options (lower left corner) > Settings > General > Functionality > scroll down to find Disable Smooth Scrolling towards the bottom of the list and toggle it ON on the right-hand side.
