Securely manage your passwords from directly inside Shift, with the ability to import your passwords from your browser(s), or favorite password management tool.

IMPORTANT: Save your Emergency Kit

When you start using passwords in Shift, make sure to save a copy of your Emergency Kit. The Emergency Kit is unique to you and contains your unique vault password. You'll need this password if you ever get logged out of Shift, or want to use Shift on a different computer. Go to Options (lower left) > Settings > Passwords > Options (towards the top right) > click "View" next to Emergency Kit. Save this document somewhere safe that only you have access to, such as a secure drive or a USB. Read more about your Emergency Kit here.

How to import your passwords

You can import your passwords anytime from your browser by heading into Options (lower left corner) > Settings > Passwords > Options > Import. From this page, you can choose which browser you'd like to import your password information from. If you use Shift along with your browser, you'll need to import your passwords from your browser into Shift periodically (there is no direct link between your browser and Shift)!
