Big things are happening at Shift HQ right now. It's kind of a big deal, we know. 🎉
One of the exciting new features to look forward to with the Shift 4.0 release is how links will be handled in Shift.
What this means is that if you click on a link in Shift, you will be able to open that link in an app or browser tab in Shift, instead of a new Shift window or a browser tab.
You have the Facebook app linked up in Shift. You go to your email and find that your colleague has sent you an email with a link to Facebook in it.
You, of course, click on the Facebook link. In the past Shift, would have opened this outside of Shift in your browser. In Shift 4.0, this link will open in your Facebook app in Shift.
If you don't have the Facebook app in Shift, Shift will ask you if you want to install Facebook in Shift.
You will also be able to choose if you want links to open in Shift or in your browser.
Our aim with improved link handling is to create a seamless experience in Shift that keeps you from having to switch contexts, keeps you focused on the task at hand, and all around more productive. 🔗
