We are aware of this issue and understand the frustration and inconvenience it causes. Unfortunately, this is a known problem of Electron, the platform used to build Shift. As of present, we do not have a solid timeline for resolving this issue. However our team is working to correct this issue.
We assure you that once this problem has been solved we will release it in Shift. In the meantime, if you continue to encounter the same problem please report the issue in our bug report form.
